The mental health crisis with young people
Victim or creator?
There appears to be a crisis amongst young people. There is the pressure to achieve educationally, to be happy and liked, to secure a successful future are high on the agenda as well as trying to acquire the latest gadgets.
All of this seems to be resulting in increasing levels of self-harm and addictive behaviours, resignation and apathy, high levels of anxiety and depression and a rise in suicides, particularly amongst young men.
But what if we could all see that we already have everything we need to live fulfilled lives? What if this innocent search for something ‘out there’ to make us happy and successful was obscuring our natural creativity and our innate wellbeing?
That we are not victims of our circumstances and our past. And, what if we all have the capacity to create the lives we want on our terms?
In this conversation Anke Herrmann and Michael Brown explore the amazing creative potential in children and young people and how this is realised moment by moment
